Passenger Vehicle
YAN Engines has developed a D-Cycle modification of a mass-produced passenger car engine with collaboration from an engine manufacturer, Tier 1 suppliers, and motorsports shops. The baseline engine is one of the most advanced engines in the world, previously winning “engine of the year” awards. The modified engine with the D-Cycle technology is undergoing initial stages of testing to establish performance, efficiency and emission values. We are currently retrofitting Expected fuel efficiency benefit from the retrofit is 15-20%.
US Military
YAN Engines recently developed the D-Cycle in a program for the US Department Of Defense to retrofit their Medium Tactical Vehicle (MTVR) convoy truck with the D-Cycle. The MTVR fleet consists of 33,000 trucks, averaging 4 MPG. The baseline engine was a commercial heavy-duty diesel engine retrofit with D-Cycle technology for fuel efficiency cost savings and to increase driving range. The engine was successfully idled and run up to baseline engine equivalent RPMs in over 40 tests thus far. Estimated engine fuel efficiency increase is 20% across the drive-cycle. Certified testing will take place on an engine dynamometer before robustness and vehicle integration testing.
